Tuesday 27 April 2010:

Ifield Edwards IV are the champions after drawing their final match and league decider 1-1 away to Furnace Green Galaxy II. Galaxy took a first half lead, but Jamie Mills scored the all important equaliser 15 minutes from time. Cherry Lane fnished their season in style as they beat Sporting Crawley II 8-4 at home. Stones also completed their season with a win, 6-4 at home to Sporting Devils, and the sides swap places with Stones moving out of the bottom two.

Saturday 24 April 2010:

Furnace Green Galaxy II picked up three points after Sporting Devils failed to fulfil their fixture, which puts them three points behind leaders Ifield Edwards IV with the final game of the season deciding the destiny of the title. Sporting Crawley II beat second bottom Stones 11-1 at home, while Cherry Lane and Wingspan II shared the points following a 0-0 draw at Langley Green.

Tuesday 20 April 2010:

The top two both won again as Furnace Green Galaxy II beat second bottom Stones 4-0 at home and Ifield Edwards IV beat third placed Sporting Crawley II 3-2. Ifield took the lead through Chris Brown, but Sporting equalised to make it 1-1 at the break. Chris Brown's second restored Ifield's lead and a Chris Dumper header made it 3-1, but a late goal from Sporting made it a slightly uncomfortable last few minutes. Cherry Lane picked three points after winning 2-0 at Sporting Devils to remain fourth in the table.

Saturday 17 April 2010:

Leaders Ifield Edwards IV comfortably beat Cherry Lane 6-1 away to stay top of the table. First half goals from Chris Brown and Sam Whyton gave Ifield a 2-0 lead at the break. Steve Crawford with two, Sam Whyton and Grant Rhodes completed the scoring in the second half. The bottom two sides met and served up a ten goal thriller as Stones and Wingspan II drew 5-5.

Newhaven consolidated their sixth place with a 3-0 home win over Hurstpierpoint, while Saltdean United stay seventh after beating second bottom Forest 2-1 at home. Wednesday 10 March 2010:

Forest’s run in the Mid Sussex Senior Cup ended in the Third Round as they were beaten 2–0 at West Sussex Premier side Cowfold.

The race for the league title appears to be between the top four sides as they maintained their four point gap between themselves and the rest. Bexhill United remain top after winning 4–2 at Ifield Edwards, despite going a goal down when Clive Piller gave the home side a 1–0 lead after 17 minutes. Benjamin White equalised for Bexhill five minutes before the break. The second half saw the visitors go into a 4–1 lead thanks to goals from Philip Rhodes (55), James Doswell (73) and David Carey (76). Clinton Moore pulled a late consolation back for Ifield in the 85th minute.

Second placed Uckfield Town kept up the pressure on the leaders with a 6–0 home win over Newhaven. Luke Shand got them off to a great start, scoring after just 6 minutes, with Christopher Gould doubling their advantage with their second after 35 minutes. Michael Booth netted the third on 53 minutes. Joseph Miller scored two goals in two minutes in the 78th and 80th minutes, and a second from Christopher Gould a minute from time completed the rout.

Bosham also won and stay third as they came back from a goal down at TD Shipley to win 2–1. Andrew Harper gave the home side the lead after 23 minutes, but a John Phillips brace after 54 and 66 minutes gave Bosham the points.

Haywards Heath Town are fourth as a late scoring spree gave them a 5–0 win at Broadbridge Heath. Robert Cooper gave Heath a 13th minute lead, and that’s how it stayed until the 75th minute when Adam Williams doubled their advantage. Naim Rouane scored the third in the 80th minute, two minutes later and Robert Cooper’s second made it 4–0, and with two minutes to go Matthew Fleming scored the fifth. Dorking Wanderers bounced back from their Challenge Cup semi final defeat at the hands of Bosham to hammer Hurstpierpoint 9–1 at West Humble with only two players getting on the scoresheet for them. Lee Smith netted six and Craig Duffell weighed in with a hat trick. Lee Smith opened the scoring on 32 minutes, which gave Dorking a 1–0 half time lead, but after the break the floodgates opened as Lee Smith got his second on 50 minutes, Craig Duffell made it 3–0 after 55 minutes and netted another three minutes later. Christopher Cook pulled one back for Hurst on 60 minutes, but Craig Duffell completed his hat trick on 75 minutes before Lee Smith took over with goals on 78, 82, 86 and 90 minutes.

Saltdean United remain seventh despite losing 1–0 at Sidlesham who had James Coates to thank for scoring the only goal after half an hour. Down at the bottom Pease

Pottage Village gave themselves a timely boost as they battle to avoid the drop with a 3–2 home win over Rottingdean Village. Dave Lucas settled the home sides nerves with their first goal in five games after just three minutes, and it got better for Pottage on 22 minutes when new signing Chris Williams got a second. Kris Pover pulled one back for Rottingdean after 61 minutes and thought he had salvaged a point when he equalised four minutes from time, but in the fourth minute of time added on Joel Slight scored the winner for Pottage. It was not all bad news for Rottingdean as they move up a place and above Hurstpierpoint on goal difference after their hammering at Dorking.

Bexhill United got back to winning ways and are the new leaders as they took advantage of Haywards Heath Town’s defeat to go top thanks to a 2–0 home win over bottom side Pease Pottage Village, who made them work hard for the points with Philip Rhodes finally giving them the lead after 67 minutes. Five minutes from time Nathan Harding made it 2–0. Bosham are up to second thanks to a 3–0 home win over Saltdean United. Gary Rowland got the first after just 2 minutes and Stephen Nineham made it 2–0 at half-time scoring after 25 minutes. A second from Gary Rowland on 57 minutes made certain of the points.

Uckfield Town move up to third courtesy of a 2–1 win at Sidlesham, where both Uckfield goals came from the penalty spot. A Brockway header after 6 minutes gave Sids a 1–0 lead, but Chris Scott equalised for Uckfield on 37 mins and Michael Booth scored what turned out to be the winner after 70 minutes.

Previous leaders Haywards Heath Town went down 4–3 at TD Shipley who move up a place to seventh. Rob Cooper gave Heath a 28th minute lead, but TD equalised a minute later through Mark Fiest. Rob Cooper’s second restored Heath’s advantage in the 31st minute and Adam Williams made it 3–1 two minutes later. TD pulled one back through Anthony Potter on 38 minutes to make it 2–3 at the break. TD equalised through Clark Byrne in the 73rd minute and they completed a fine comeback with an 82nd minute winner courtesy of a Mark Cave deflected free kick.

Fifth placed Newhaven came unstuck at Broadbridge Heath where they went down 5–2. Two goals from Martin Flack after 27 and 34 minutes put Heath two up and a strike from Ryan Archer a minute before the break put Heath well in charge. But Lee Robinson pulled one back on 52 minutes and his second ten minutes from time looked to have set up a tense finish, but Scott Avory on 83 and Mark Francis on 85 minutes secured the points.

Dorking Wanderers move up a place to sixth after beating Rottingdean Village 4–2 at home. Matty Evans gave Dorking the lead after 22 minutes, but James Novis equalised on 30, almost immediately Dorking regained the lead through Lee Smith. Kris Pover again equalised for Rottingdean after 62 minutes, but two minutes later and it was 3–2 thanks to Liam Hirrel, Matty Evans’ second and Dorking’s fourth eight minutes from time secured the points.

Ifield Edwards remain ninth and they had to settle for a share of the points following a 1–1 draw at Hurstpierpoint. Benjamin Hall gave the home side a 12th minute lead, but Clinton Moore netted the equalised after 30 minutes.

In the Second Round of the Mid Sussex Senior Cup there were wins for Ifield Edwards and Forest, who both defeated Crawley Premier League sides away from home. Ifield Edwards won 4-1 at Broadfield, where Clinton Moore opened the scoring for Ifield after 12 minutes, but Dave Pethers equalised on 18. Clive Piller restored Ifields lead with 34 minutes gone and Clinton Moore made it 3-1 two minutes later. Aaron Smith put the tie beyond Broadfield with the fourth four minutes before the break. Forest beat Phoenix United 4-2 with Joe Holvey hitting two after 25 and 55 minutes, Ross Swaine netted the third on 75 minutes and Chris Copestake on 80 minutes completed the scoring. Hurstpierpoint went out after they lost an exciting tie 4-3 on penalties at home to Mid Sussex Division One side Roffey, after the sides had finished extra time level at 5-5. Hurst went 2-0 up through Paul Ground (10 minutes) and Matthew Tiplady on 14. But Roffey fought back to make it 2-2 at half time through Andy Lampard and Ewan Bonnyman. An Andy Lampard penalty gave Roffey the lead, but with seconds remaining Edward Bartram equalised. Andy Lampard completed his hat trick as he gave Roffey the lead in the second period of extra time, but again Hurst hit back through Edward Bartram on 110 minutes. Two minutes later and Hurst were in front through Andy Webster, but Roffey made it 5-5 as Andy Lampard netted yet again with a minute to go. Roffey won the penalty shoot out 4-3.

In the Fourth Round of the Vernon Wentworth Cup Rottingdean Village went through after beating Pagham II 3-1 at home. Nicholas Pollard gave Rottingdean an 8th minute lead and Lee Smith made it 2-0 on 55 minutes. Nathan Parke pulled one back for Pagham after 61 minutes, but Kris Pover scored Rottingdeans third 5 minutes from time. Saltdean United went out as they lost 3-1 at home to Worthing League leaders Ferring.

In the league the top two games saw the top four in action, and it was Haywards Heath Town who are the new leaders on goal difference after beating second placed Uckfield Town 2-0 at Hanbury Park. Francis Dellow gave Heath the lead 4 minutes before the break and Adam Williams made certain of the points with a second on 79 minutes. Previous leaders Bexhill United lost 2-0 at Bosham, who move up a place to third. Bradley Miles gave the home side a 15th minute lead and a minute before half time Gary Rowland made it 2-0. Newhaven got back to winning ways and made it 22 goals scored in their last five matches with a 4-1 win at Dorking Wanderers. Lee Robinson gave Newhaven the lead after just five minutes and then two minutes into the second half Christopher Grant doubled their advantage. Shane Jones pulled one back for Dorking after 70 minutes, but Lee Robinson went on to complete his hat trick with goals on 77 and 88 minutes to secure the points. TD Shipley move up a place to eighth after picking up a point following a 1-1 draw at Broadbridge Heath. Scott Avory gave Heath a half time lead as scored on 40 minutes, but 6 minutes into the second half Robert Gardner equalised. Sidlesham added to Pease Pottage Villages woes with a 4-0 home win. Leigh Johnson netted a hat trick with goals in the 6th, 14th and 59th minutes, Christopher Jackson got the fourth on 78 minutes

Haywards Heath Town won their Division Three Challenge Cup quarter final 1-0 after extra time at home to Ifield Edwards and will now play Newhaven in the semi finals. Adam Williams got the all important goal in the 95th minute.

In the league Newhaven missed the chance to climb a couple of places as they went down 4-3 at home to Rottingdean Village who move up a place to eleventh.

: Uckfield Town took advantage of the top two not playing to move back into second place thanks to a 1-0 win at Saltdean United, who had two booked and one sent off. Michael Booth got the important goal ten minutes from time. Newhaven move up a place to seventh and move above Ifield Edwards who they beat 5-2 at Ifield Green. Joe Mctiffen gave Newhaven a tenth minute lead, but Clinton Moore equalised on 33 minutes. Mark Probert put Newhaven ahead again on 35 minutes. Archie Mboto increased Newhavens advantage 10 minutes into the second half. Mark Probert made it 4-1 on 59 minutes and Darren Flynn netted the fifth on 75 minutes. Ross Dance scored Ifields second five minutes from time.

Rottingdean Village move up a couple of places and out of the bottom two thanks to a 2-2 draw at Sidlesham where they came from 2-0 down as debutant James Fallick put Sidlesham a couple of goals up, but Casey Marlow on 60 minutes and Kris Pover with ten minutes to go salvaged a point.

In the Mid Sussex Senior Charity Cup Broadbridge Heath went out after losing 2-1 at home to local rivals Roffey from the Mid Sussex League Division One. Andy Lampard gave Roffey a first half lead and ten minutes into the second half Gary Russell made it 2-0. Paul Gallagher pulled one back for Heath with ten minutes left to ensure a tense finale.

Hurstpierpoint lost their Vernon Wentworth Cup Third Round tie at home to Peacehaven & Telscombe II 4-1. Jack Loraine put the visitors ahead after 18 minutes, and Ryan Smith made it 2-0 at the break with a goal on 42 minutes. Jack Loraine went on to complete his hat trick with goals on 50 and 78 minutes. Chris Cook scored a late consolation for Hurst with just 5 minutes to go.

Friday night saw Haywards Heath Town move up to second place, if only for a few hours, after beating bottom side Pease Pottage Village 5-0 at home. Francis Dellow scored the first after just 2 minutes, and he doubled the advantage on 17 minutes. Two minutes later and it was 3-0 courtesy of Naim Rouane. It could have been worse before the break, but Francis Dellow missed the chance of his third hat trick in consecutive homes games as he placed his penalty wide. The fourth was scored when Jerome Beckles headed home and Ollie Day grabbed the fifth with ten minutes to go.

In the Division Three Challenge Cup Ifield Edwards won their First Round Replay 3-0 at TD Shipley to set up a quarter final tie at Haywards Heath Town. Chamal Fenelon gave Ifield a first half lead, scoring after 20 minutes. Two second half goals from Phil Butcher on 67 minutes and Ben Arthur after 80 minutes saw Ifield through. Dorking Wanderers went out of the Surrey Intermediate Cup after losing their Fourth Round tie 1-0 at home to Tongham.

In the league, leaders Bexhill United consolidated their place at the top with a 2-0 home win over Broadbridge Heath. James Doswell gave the home side a 39th minute lead and four minutes after the break David Carey netted the second. Bosham move back into second place following their 1-1 draw at Saltdean United, in a lively encounter that saw four booking and a sending off for Saltdean and three bookings for Bosham. Graeme Dowden gave Bosham a 15th minute lead, but Harry Coker equalised for the home side on 27 minutes. Newhaven move up a place to eighth courtesy of a 5-0 home win over Sidlesham. Archie Mboto (4), Darren Flynn (17) and Lee Robinson (31) gave the home side a 3-0 half time lead. Lee Robinson scored again after 63 and 77 minutes to complete his hat trick and an emphtic win. Down at the bottom Hurstpierpoint move out of the bottom three after beating Pease Pottage Village 1-0 at home with Chris Cook scoring the all important goal after just 11 minutes.

It was the Third Round of the Sussex Intermediate Cup last Saturday and there were mixed fortunes for the Division Three sides involved. League leaders Bosham went out, losing 4-2 on penalties to Mid Sussex side Jarvis Brook, after the sides had finished level at a one apiece after extra time. James Bracher had given Bosham a 15th minute lead, but Jarvis Brook equalised from the penalty spot after Simon Bone brought down Turner, and as he was the last man was duly sent off. Turner equalised from the spot. Third-placed Bexhill United also went out when they were beaten 2-1 at Crawley Premier League side Phoenix United, with Mark Funnell on target for Bexhill on 32 mins. Ifield Edwards comfortably won their tie 5-1 at Rustington II, although they had to come from a goal down when Steven Squires scored for the home side after 8 minutes. Phil Butcher equalised with a free kick to make it 1-1 at the break. A minute into the second half Ross Dance put Ifield in front and on 75 minutes he made it 3-1. Clive Piller scored his thirteenth of the season in the 82nd minute with Jamal Sultan scoring the fifth in the 87th minute. Saltdean United also had a comfortable win at Ringmer II where they ran out 7-0 winners. Leigh Davis opened the scoring on 18 minutes, Jack McDowell made it 2-0 after 21 minutes and Leigh Davis's second two minutes before the break gave Saltdean a 3-0 half time lead. A minute into the second half Leigh Davis completed his hat trick. There were further goals from Harry Coker (57) and a brace from Ashley Rees (60 and 87 minutes). Newhaven are through thanks to a 3-1 win at Brighton Premier side American Express. Wayne Bashford gave Newhaven a sixth minute lead, but Express forced the game into extra time, where a brace from Archie Mboto in the last three minutes saw them through. Rottingdean Village knocked out Pagham II at Nyetimber Lane as they came from a goal down to win 2-1. Kerry Hardwell gave the home side the lead after 25 minutes, but goals from Jamie Watts on 30 minutes

and Tommy Pattenden on 70 saw Rottingdean through. Pease Pottage Village put their league problems to one side as they earned a much-needed 2-0 home win over West Sussex League side Ashington Rovers with James Francis after 12 minutes and Cache Fenelon on 86 minutes scoring the all-important goals.

Dorking Wanderers won through to the Fourth Round of the Surrey Intermediate Cup with an 8-1 home win over Nutfield. Craig Duffell gave Dorking a 3rd minute lead, Kevin Joyce made it two after 21 minutes. The second half saw Lee Smith get the third on 55 minutes, Craig Duffell the fourth five minutes later. Lee Smith went on to complete his hat trick after 63 and 77 minutes, while Duffell completed his hat trick ten minutes from time. Kevin Cooper netted the eighth five minutes later.

In the league it was second versus fourth as Haywards Heath Town travelled to Uckfield Town, and it was the home side who took the three points following a 3-2 win, and move above their opponents into second place. Christopher Gould gave Uckfield the perfect start, scoring after just three minutes and Joseph Miller doubled their advantage on 23 minutes. Ten minutes into the second half and Christopher Gould's second goal made it 3-0. Heath staged a fightback and on 60 minutes Robert Cooper pulled one back. Naim Rouane ensured a tense last 23 minutes as he scored Heath's second on 67 minutes, but Uckfield held on. To add the the drama both sides had a man sent off. TD Shipley missed the chance to climb the table, and lost their unbeaten home record, after losing 3-2 at home to Sidlesham, who move out of the bottom three. Dan Cobby gave Sidlesham an eighth minute lead., but Mark Fiest equalised on 31 minutes. Christopher Jackson restored the lead for the visitors after 55 minutes and Liam Baldwin made it 3-1 after 70 minutes. Gary Pritchard's goal gave TD a lifeline with their second after 79 minutes, but Sidlesham held on. Second bottom Forest picked up their third league win as they won their local derby at Broadbridge Heath 2-0. Harry Roadley put Forest ahead in the 78th minute and Jordan Ruff secured the points with a second on 86 minutes. Heath also had Ben Clements sent off.

There was just the one league game played on Saturday due to the wet weather, and it proved a profitable one for Rottingdean Village who moved off the bottom and up three places to twelfth following their 2-1 win at Broadbridge Heath. After a goalless first half Tommy Di Martino gave Heath the lead on 52 minutes, but four minutes later Louis Menson-Evans equalised and with five minutes to go Tommy Pattenden scored the all-important winner.

Friday night saw Newhaven come from behind three times to beat Saltdean United 4-3 in a seven goal thriller at Hill Park in the Division Three Challenge Cup. Dan Parris gave Saltdean the lead after just 10 minutes, but Lee Robinson equalised for Newhaven on 38 to make it one apiece at the break. Three minutes into the second half and Jack McDowell restored the home side's advantage, but again Lee Robinson's second after 57 minutes brought the scores level. Two minutes later and Saltdean were ahead again for the third time, this time through Ashley Rees. Saltdean held onto their lead until the 83rd minute when Lee Robinson completed his hat trick with the third equaliser. Worse was to come for Saltdean as Mark Probert netted the winner for Newhaven in the third minute of time added on to earn a place in the semi finals.

Bosham have opened up a five point gap at the top following their 3-0 win at Rottingdean Village, who drop to the bottom of the table. Bradley Miles scored the opener five minutes before the break and John Phillips made it 2-0 on 60 minutes, with Matthew Collino getting the third after 70 minutes. Uckfield Town are up to third thanks to a 3-2 home win over Saltdean United in a feisty encounter, with seven bookings and a sending off. Ashley Rees gave Saltdean a tenth minute lead and he made it 2-0 to the visitors on 31 minutes, but Christopher Gould pulled one back for Uckfield five minutes before the break. A minute into the second period and the sides were all square as Ben Mitchell scored. Dane Smith netted what proved to be the winner after 61 minutes. TD Shipley remain seventh after their 2-2 home draw with Dorking Wanderers. Kevin Cooper gave the visitors a 20th minute lead, but two goals in three second half minutes gave TD a 2-1 lead, but Kevin Burgess gave Dorking a share of the points with an 80th minute equaliser. Newhaven surprisingly went down 1-0 at home to Forest, who move off the bottom for the first time this season with Jake Holmes scoring the all important goal with ten minutes to go. Broadbridge Heath move up a place and above Hurstpierpoint, who the beat, into 10th after winning 2-1 at home. Benjamin Hall gave the visitors a fifth minute lead, but two minutes into the second half Darren James equalised, and the same player scored the winner with eight minutes to go. Sidlesham picked up only their second league win and move out of the bottom two after a 3-1 victory at Pease Pottage Village. Dan Cobby gave Sidlesham the lead when he scored in the 15th minute, and Christopher Jackson made it 2-0 at the beak, as he scored after some 38 minutes. Alec Hayes pulled one back for Pottage in the 76th minute, but four minutes later Leigh Johnson secured the points for Sidesham with their third.

Friday night saw an entertaining clash at Hanbury Stadium as third placed Ifield Edwards took on Haywards Heath Town who were fifth, but with games in hand on the sides above them. Phil Butcher gave Ifield a 15th minute lead when he scored from a free kick, but Heath equalised through Mark Beard after 35 minutes. Heath took all three points when Francis Dellow scored the winner in the fourth minute of time added on.

The weather certainly took its toll on the weekend's fixtures with only four ties in the Sussex Intermediate Cup surviving and the solitary league scheduled was also postponed. Bosham knocked out fellow Division Three side Hurstpierpoint with two second half goals from John Phillips in the 47th and 78th minutes. Forest are also through as they eliminated West Sussex Premier side Cowfold 1-0 away thanks to a 25th minute goal from Ben Bissett. Haywards Heath Town had a comfortable 8-2 home win over Brighton Premier League side CCK. Adam Williams (27 mins) and Robert Cooper (44 mins) gave Heath a 2-0 half time lead. Niam Rouane (52), Adam Williams (61), Robert Cooper (70), Mark Beard (78), Luis Freitas (82) and a third from Adam Williams a minute from time completed the scoring. TD Shipley went out after losing 4-1 at Eastbourne Town II. Robert Larmour gave Eastbourne a 9th minute lead and Callum Legate's first on 27 minutes put the home side two up at half time. Callum Legate scored his second after 56 minutes and Tristan Jarvis got Eastbourne's fourth on 71 minutes. Andrew Harper scored a consolation for TD 6 minutes from time.

In the Surrey Intermediate Cup Dorking Wanderers won through to the Third Round after comfortably beating Hindhead Athletic 8-0 at home. Shane Jones set Dorking on their way with the opener after just five minutes and Kevin Cooper's first after 40 minutes gave them a 3-0 half time lead. Kevin Cooper scored his second on 65 minutes and Shane Jones got the fifth on 72 minutes. Craig Duffell made it 6-0 after 80 minutes and Kevin Cooper completed his hat trick on 82 minutes with Kevin Joyce making it 8-0 two minutes from time.

In the Sussex Intermediate Cup Sidlesham went out after losing their Second Round tie 6-3 at Eastbourne United Association II. Eastbourne raced into a four goal lead, but Leigh Johnson pulled one back just before half time. James Coates made it 4-2 before Eastbourne scored again. James Coates netted his second to reduce the arrears to 5-3, but Eastbourne scored again from a free kick to make it six.

In the Division Three Challenge Cup Second Round Bexhill United went out after losing 3-2 at home to Dorking Wanderers. Benjamin White on 17 minutes and Lee Roberts on 42 minutes scoring for Bexhill. Bosham were taken to extra time by Pease Pottage Village with the scores level at one apiece after 90 minutes. John Phillips put Bosham a goal up on the stroke of half-time, but John Jamieson equalised for Pottage to take the game into the extra period. Phillips gave Bosham the lead on 93 minutes and Kieran Hartley made it 3-1 on 98. John Phillips then completed his hat trick and Andrew Probee scored the fifth with just three minutes to go to earn Bosham a semi final tie against Dorking Wanderers.

In the league it wasn't a good day for the away sides, as none of them won and only one side scored. Ifield Edwards closed the gap on the top two to a single point following their comfortable 3-0 home win over Broadbridge Heath. Aaron Smith gave Ifield a 13th minute lead, and just before the break Clive Piller made it 2-0. Leading scorer Clive Piller made the game safe with his second ten minutes into the second half. Uckfield Town move above TD Shipley after beating them 3-0 at home. Joseph Miller put Uckfield a goal up after just two minutes, and an Andrew Hollis goal after 21 minutes gave them a two goal advantage at the break. Andy McIntosh secured the points as he scored the third on 75 minutes. Haywards Heath Town move up three places to fifth courtesy of a 5-1 home win over bottom side Forest. Niam Rouane got the first after 8 minutes, and Heath increased their advantage three minutes later through Oliver Day. Niam Rouane made it 3-0 on the half hour and Ian Wood gave Heath a four goal half-time lead scoring on 44 minutes. Niam Rouane completed his hat trick 11 minutes into the second half. Forest scored a consolation through Jordan Ruff on 60 minutes. Saltdean United are up to sixth thanks to a 3-0 home win over local rivals Rottingdean Village. Ashley Rees gave Saltdean an early lead as he scored after 5 minutes and Matthew Fleming doubled their advantage on 35 minutes. Matthew Fleming's second after 56 minutes made the points safe for Saltdean. Hurstpierpoint move out of the bottom four and up two places to tenth after beating Newhaven 4-0 at home. Andrew Webster (22 minutes) and Benjamin Hall (40 minutes) gave Hurst a 2-0 lead at half-time. Benjamin Hall went on to complete his hat trick with goals on 50 and 73 minutes to secure Hurst's best home win of the season.

In the Mid Sussex Senior Cup there was disappointment for Pease Pottage Village as they went out after losing 1-0 at Mid Sussex Division One side Roffey, where a John Maguire header midway through the second half proved to be enough.

In the Division Three Challenge Cup First Round Bexhill United won 5-0 at Broadbridge Heath. Benjamin White got them off to a good start, scoring in the 1st minute. Philip Rhodes made it 2-0 after ten minutes and three minutes later Jethro Warren all but finished the tie as he made it three. Two second half goals from Craig Ottley (65) and Darren Witham (70) completed the scoring.

Ifield Edwards and TD Shipley couldn't be separated after extra time as they drew their tie 4-4 at Ifield Green. Clive Piller gave Ifield the lead after just 80 seconds, but Dave Brown made it 1-1 on 14 minutes. Four minutes before the break Clive made it 2-1 with a header, but TD were level at half time as Anthony Potter scored on 43 minutes. After 65 minutes Clive completed his hat trick as he put the home side ahead once more, but again TD equalised, this time through Mark Cave on 75 minutes. Clive scored to give his side the lead for the fourth time, but Gary Pritchard levelled in the fourth minute of time added on. Neither side managed to to take the tie as extra time remained goalless, so the side must try again.

Newhaven knocked out Sidlesham at Fort Road thanks to two goals inside the first fifteen minutes. Liam Keith scored the opener on 11 minutes and three minutes later Wayne Bashford scored the second. Saltdean United booked their place in Round Two after beating Forest 3-1 at home. Leigh Davis got the first after 35 mins. Forest equalised on 70 minutes courtesy of Ben Bissett, but Leigh Davis made it 2-1 ten minutes from time and Harry Coker scored the third four minutes into time added on.

Haywards Heath Town are also safely through as they won 2-1 after extra time at Uckfield Town. Louis Wright scored for Heath after just two minutes. Uckfield had to wait until the 75th minute to equalise through Joseph Miller. Mark Gradosielski grabbed the winner on 111 minutes.

In the league Bosham took advantage of Bexhill's cup involvement to take over at the top following their 5-3 win at Hurstpierpoint. Christopher Long put Hurst one up in the 10th minute, but Stephen Nineham brought Bosham level on 21 minutes. Steven Fogden restored Hurst's lead four minutes later, but again Bosham drew level through Andrew Probee in the 32nd minute. Stephen Nineham's second gave Bosham the lead at the break, scoring in the 42nd minute. John Phillips increased Bosham's advantage 20 minutes into the second half. Graeme Dowden scored Bosham's fifth on 75 minutes. Benjamin Hall pulled one back for Hurst two minutes from time.

Dorking Wanderers move up a couple of places to seventh thanks to a 2-1 win at Rottingdean Village. Kevin Joyce gave the visitors the lead on 25 minutes, but seven minutes into the second half Kris Plover netted the equalised for Rottingdean. Lee Smith scored what turned out to be the winner after 70 minutes.

In the Mid Sussex Senior Cup Ifield Edwards put an end to Reserve Premier side Hassocks II unbeaten start to the season as they knocked them out following a 4-1 home win. Clive Piller with two, Jamal Sultan and Clinton Moore were on target for Ifield, while Laurence Robinson pulled a goal back for Hassocks.

In the Vernon Wentworth Cup Second Round both Division Three sides in action went through, Rottingdean Village beat FC Sporting 6-0 at home, while Saltdean United edged out Worthing United II 3-2, also at home. Leigh Davies gave Saltdean a sixth minute lead, then on 18 minutes Ashley Rees doubled their advantage. Joshua Wells gave Worthing a life line as he pulled a goal back on 72 minutes and Colin Piper made it all square with just 2 minutes to go, but a minute later Richie Watton scored the winner for Saltdean.

In the league, leaders Bexhill United dropped points at home for the second week running and had to come from behind twice to salvage a point in their home game with third from bottom Hurstpierpoint. Benjamin Hall put the visitors one up after 12 minutes. Mark Funnell equalised on 28. Hall scored his second for the visitors after 60 minutes, but David Pugh equalised for Bexhill on 69 minutes. Bosham took advantage of Bexhill's draw to move within a point thanks to a 1-0 home win over Newhaven, with John Phillips scoring the all important winner five minutes from time. TD Shipley remain fourth despite losing 4-0 at Haywards Heath Town, who move up a place to seventh. Thomas Howes got the first after 16 minutes and Francis Dellow doubled Heath's advantage on 25. Robert Cooper scored three minutes into the second half and Luis Feitas completed the scoring seven minutes from time. Uckfield Town move up a place to fifth after drawing 1-1 at Pease Pottage Village. After a goalless first half John Jamieson gave Pottage the lead on 53 minutes, but a Ben Mitchell penalty two minutes later gave Uckfield a share of the points. Dorking Wanderers remain ninth despite winning 3-2 at second bottom Sidlesham. Bottom side Forest finally got their first win at the eighth time of asking as they won their local derby with Broadbridge Heath 2-0 at home. After a goalless first half Jordan Ruff broke the deadlock on 57 minutes and Harry Roadley made the points safe with Forest's second eight minutes from time.

In the Division Three Challenge Cup Dorking Wanderers won through to the Second Round after beating Hurstpierpoint 2-1 at home. Lee Smith scored the first a minute into the second half and Oliver Wassell gave Dorking a 2-0 lead four minutes later, before Chris Long pulled one back for the visitors on 55 minutes.

In the Mid Sussex Senior Cup Forest recorded a rare victory as they won 3-2 at Mid Sussex Premier side Wisdom Sports. In the league the top two at the start of the day met at The Polegrove, and it was visitors Bosham who came out on top as a John Phillips goal after 52 minutes gave them the points. Bexhill United had a man sent off for the second week running, when Sam Rimmer saw red for saving a goalbound shot, but Bosham missed the resulting penalty. Ifield Edwards move up to third after winning 1-0 at Sidlesham, with Clive Piller on target for Ifield after 69 minutes. TD Shipley are go fifth thanks to a 3-2 home win over previously unbeaten Newhaven. Liam Keith gave Newhaven the lead after just 5 minutes, but Gary Pritchard on 22, Bradley Curtis (29) and Anthony Potter (42) put the home side 3-1 up at the break. David Hawes pulled one back for Newhaven with 12 minutes to go to ensure a nervous last few minutes. Uckfield Town remain sixth after beating Broadbridge Heath 3-1 at home. Andrew Hollis gave Uckfield a sixth minute lead, but Michael Wood equalised for Heath on 17 minutes. Five minutes before the break Joe Miller restored the home side's advantage. Lewis Baker made sure of the points with Uckfield's third on 62 minutes. Saltdean United move above Haywards Heath Town into seventh place after beating them 2-1 at Hanbury Park, to inflict their first defeat of the season on the day they christened their newly laid pitch. Oliver Day got Heath off to a good start as he gave them the lead after 10 minutes, a lead they held until half-time. Seven minutes into the second period Ashley Rees equalised for Saltdean, and then on 70 minutes Richie Watton netted what proved to be the winner. Heath's miserale afternoon was completed when they had Chris Turner sent off. Rottingdean Village moved out of the bottom two thanks to an emphatic 7-3 home win over Pease Pottage Village. Pottage never recovered from conceding three goals in the opening 17 minutes through Luke Pawson, Mike De Mario and Louis Henson-Evans. John Jamieson pulled one back for the visitors on 34 minutes, but Henson-Evans scored again to make it 4-1 at the break. Louis Henson-Evans completed his hat trick two minutes after the restart, before John Jamieson gave the visitors some hope by pulling another back after 70 minutes. That was short lived as only two minutes later Kris Povey got the first of his brace on 72 minutes and the other on 80 to leave Pottage 7-2 down. A consolation from Tom Routley on 86 minutes completed the scoring.

The First Round of the Sussex Intermediate Cup was reasonably successful for Division Three sides, with just the two going out. In the all Division Three tie Rottingdean Village won 3-2 at Broadbridge Heath. John Kilgarriff gave Rottingdean the lead after just two minutes, Louis Menson-Evans doubled their advantage on 4 minutes and Kilgarriff's second put them three up with just seven minutes gone! Broadbridge Heath pulled a couple back but the damage had been done.

Haywards Heath Town comfortably won their tie 6-1 at West Sussex League Division One side Hunston Community Club, but had to wait until the second half before opening their account. Robert Cooper scored the first on 47 minutes, and went on to completed a hat trick with goals on 63 and 77 minutes. Francis Dellow weighed in with a brace after 49 and 89 minutes, with Adam williams netting the other on 52 mins.

Newhaven were taken to extra time by East Grinstead Town II. Thomas O'Donnell gave Newhaven the lead after 53 minutes, but Dave Major equalised with ten minutes to go. Lee Robinson got what proved to be the winner seven minutes into the extra period.

Bosham are also through after beating Seaford Town II 5-1 away. Bosham raced into a 5-0 half time lead through Kieran Hartley (22 mins), a Bradley Miles hat trick (32, 36, 42 mins), with John Phillips getting the fifth on the stroke of half time. Steven Doughty scored Seaford's lone reply on 61 minutes.

Pease Pottage Village were made to work for their 2-1 victory over Brighton Premier side Southern Rangers Old Boys. Old Boys took the lead after 22 minutes, but ten minutes before the break Dan Paton equalised, and it wasn't until the fifth minute of time added on that James Francis scored the winner.

Uckfield Town went out after losing their penalty shoot out 3-1 at Wealden II, after the sides had finished all square at 1-1 after extra time. Joey Pout gave Wealden a 15th minute lead, with Christopher Gould equalising on the half hour.

Sidlesham won through to Round Two, beating West Sussex Premier side Wittering United 2-1 away with James Coates (39 minutes) and Nathan Everson (82 minutes) on target.

In the Mid Sussex Senior Cup First Round Hurstpierpoint won 4-1 at Uckfield Town II. Trevor Wilson gave Hurst a 12th minute lead, and two more goals before half time courtesy of Andrew Webster (16 minutes) and Michael Williamson (27 minutes) gave Hurst a comfortable lead. Trevor Wilson scored his second 8 minutes from time, while Uckfield grabbed a consolation goal in the last minute.

With their closest rivals involved in the Sussex Intermediate Cup Bexhill United took the chance to open up a seven point lead at the top after beating Forest 3-0 at home. David Pugh got the first after 10 minutes and four minutes later Danny Woodley doubled their advantage. On the stroke of half time Jethro Warren made it 3-0. Ifield Edwards move up to fourth thanks to a 2-1 win at Dorking Wanderers. Clinton Moore's first gave Ifield the lead after 20 minutes, but they had to wait until five minutes from time when he scored again, to double their lead, but Dorking ensured a nervous last four minutes as Duffield pulled one back. Saltdean United move up a couple of places to eighth as a Dan Parris goal after 41 minutes was enough to beat TD Shipley 1-0 at home.

Bosham won through to the Second Round of the Division Three Challenge Cup as a 57th minute goal from John Phillips was enough to see off Rottingdean Village at Walton Lane and set up a tie with Pease Pottage Village in the next round.

Dorking Wanderers went out of the Mid Sussex Senior Cup after losing 2-0 at West Sussex League Premier side Cowfold.

In the league Bexhill United opened up a four point lead at the top following their hard-fought 2-1 home win over Ifield Edwards. With the wind at their backs in the first half Ifield took the lead through Jamal Sultan, but three minutes before the break Craig Ray equalised. 10 minutes from time James Doswell scored the decisive second for the home side. TD Shipley move back up to fourth as a Bradley Curtis goal after 39 minutes was enough to beat Broadbridge Heath 1-0 at home. Uckfield Town picked up a welcome three points, winning 1-0 at Hurstpierpoint, where Christopher Gould scored from the spot after just 3 minutes. Saltdean United move up a place to tenth thanks to a 2-0 home win over Sidlesham. Dan Parris gave Saltdean a 37th minute lead and Richard Watton made the points safe with a second after 64 minutes. Pease Pottage Village move up three places to eleventh as their 2-0 home win over Forest means they are rooted to the bottom of the table. James Francis put Pottage one up after 20 minutes, but they had to wait until a minute from time to secure the points as Aiden Cawte netted their second.

Newhaven and Haywards Heath Town shared the points following an entertaining 2-2 draw at Fort Road. Kevin Cooper gave the visitors an 11th minute lead, but on 20 minutes Wayne Bashford equalised. Robert Cooper put Heath 2-1 up at the break, scoring in the 37th minute. Thomas O'Donnell ensured Newhaven a share of the points with the second equaliser on 57 minutes.

Saltdean United were knocked out of the FA Vase in the First Round as Division One side Peacehaven and Telscombe won 2-0 at Hill Park. Tom Burton scored the first after 21 minutes and he made the game safe in the 79th minute with his and Peacehaven's second.

There was just the one fixture in the league last Saturday and TD Shipley took advantage to move back up to fourth after beating Pease Pottage Village 3-1 at Finches Field. After a goalless first half Pottage to a 52nd minute lead through Terry Sandwell, but Mark Feist equalised on 66 minutes and Mark Cave (71) and Gary Pritchard (82) secured the points for the visitors.

The Division Three Rep side went out of the National League Systems Cup losing 5-2 after extra time to the Dorset Premier League. They had to endure a nightmare journey which saw them delayed over an hour on the A31 due to a fatal car crash, and with a number of players dropping out meant they played extra time with just ten men due to injuries and insufficient subs.

Bexhill United held on to top spot thanks to a 1-0 win at Sidlesham. Bexhill's winner came courtesy of a free kick which was deflected into his own net by a Sidlesham defender.

Bosham are second after a convincing 4-0 home win over TD Shipley, who drop six places to eighth. Bosham took the lead through Marco Giambelardini in the 12th minute. Matt Collino made it 2-0 on 17 minutes. John Phillips (54) and Brad Miles two minutes later completed the scoring.

Newhaven are third as they beat bottom side Pease Pottage Village 3-1 at Fort Road. A 9th minute goal from Wayne Bashford gave Newhaven the lead, but John Jamieson equalised for Pottage two minutes before the break. Bashford scored his and Newhaven's second three minutes into the second half and David Hawes made certain of the points with the third after 74 minutes.

Dorking Wanderers are up to fourth thanks to a 3-1 home win over Saltdean United. Lee Smith scored for Dorking on the stroke of half time, Josh Evans made it 2-0 on 60 minutes and Lee Smith's second put the home side three up. Richard Watton pulled one back for Saltdean with two minutes to go. Referee Paul Barratt was a busy man as he booked six players, four for Saltdean and two for Dorking.

Uckfield Town move up three places to fifth after beating Forest 5-1 at home. Joe Holvey put Forest ahead after 25 minutes, a lead they held until a minute into the second half when Joseph Miller equalised. Christopher Gould made it 2-1 after 62 minutes, and Liam Baker scored Uckfield 's third on 83 minutes. Joseph Miller's second completed the scoring three minutes from time.

Ifield Edwards are sixth thanks to a 2-1 home win over Rottingdean Village. Clive Piller gave Ifield a 22nd minute lead after his header came back off the bar for him to tap home. Jamie Watts equalised for the visitors on 39 minutes. Clive's second ?? minutes into the second half secured the points.

Haywards Heath Town are ninth after winning their local derby 2-1 at Hurstpierpont. Francis Dellow gave Heath a first half lead as he scored on 37 minutes. Kevin Cooper doubled the visitors advantage after 57 minutes, Danny miller pulled a goal back for Hurst with three minutes remaining.

Both Division Three sides involved in the FA Challenge Vase went out. Newhaven were beaten 6-0 at home by Combined Counties Premier League side Cove, while Haywards Heath Town took Division Two side Worthing United all the way to penalties, after finishing the 90 minutes all square at 0-0. Worthing winning 5-4.

In the league Bexhill United are the new leaders thanks to a 4-0 win at strugglers Forest. James Doswell gave Bexhill a 19th minute lead, and a Dave Pugh header made it 2-0 on 31 minutes with Gordon Cuddington making it 3-0 at the break when he scored on 44 minutes. James Doswell completed the scoring after 72 minutes.

Bosham drop down to second after being held 2-2 at home by Ifield Edwards. A Graeme Dearden penalty after just 7 minutes gave Bosham the lead, which they held until half time. Clinton Moore brought Ifield level and with just four minutes to go a spectacular Ben Blanshard own goal gave the visitors the lead, but a minute later a Brad Miles free kick earned Bosham a share of the points.

TD Shipley tasted defeat for the first time as they went down 2-1 at Sidlesham, who picked up their first win. David Turner gave Sidlesham an 18th minute lead, but Mark Cave equalised on 35. Chris Jackson scored the winner after 77 minutes.

Broadbridge Heath drop a place to fifth following their 1-1 home draw with Saltdean United. Dan Parris gave Saltdean the lead after 10 minutes, but four minutes later Andrew Waddington netted the equaliser.

Uckfield Town move three places to 8th after recording their first win at home to Rottingdean Village. Chris Gould put the home side one up in the first half, but a 25 yard drive from Lee Smith on 70 minutes brought Rottingdean level, only for substitute Liam Baker to score the winner a minute from time.

Hurstpierpoint also picked their first win, beating bottom side Pease Pottage Village 5-1 away. Benjamin Hall gave Hurst an 8th minute lead, Steven Fogden doubled their advantage on 25 minutes and Edward Bartram on 34 minutes made it 3-0, Joel Slight pulled one back 8 minutes from the break. Leon Hayes made it 4-1 after 63 minutes and two minutes later Andy Webster completed the rout.

With the season just three weeks old Bosham are the third different side to take over top spot following their 2-0 win at Forest. Matthew Collino continued his rich scoring vein with the opener after 21 minutes from the penalty spot and Graeme Dowden made it 2-0 on 58 minutes.

Newcomers TD Shipley are up to second thanks to a comfortable 4-0 home win over Rottingdean Village. Shane Redley opened the scoring when he volleyed home from six yards and on 28 minutes Bradley Curtis made it two. Gary Pritchard scored the third from the penalty spot on 64 minutes, and he completed the scoring two minutes later.

Newhaven are third after ruining Broadbridge Heath's 100% start with a 5-3 home win, five goals coming in 9 second half minutes. Heath's scorers were Robert Godfrey on 20 minutes and a Matthew Butler brace after 68 and 88 minutes.

Bexhill United are up to fifth, but they were made to work hard for the points at bottom side Pease Pottage Village, and it was only an 83rd minute strike from Craig Ottley that separated the sides.

Dorking Wanderers picked up their first win, beating Sidlesham 3-2 at home. Greg Lapere gave Dorking a first half lead on 25 minutes, but Perry Northeast equalised after 55 minutes. With eight minutes to go Edwin Bowers put Sidlesham 2-1 up, but Chamal Fenelon (83 minutes) and Lee Smith (89) secured the points for Dorking.

Ifield Edwards move up to seventh as they too secured their first win, 3-0 at Uckfield Town, with all three goals coming in the first half. Clinton Moore scored the first after 20 minutes and Clive Piller netted twice more before the break.

Broadbridge Heath take over top spot thanks to a 3-0 home win over Sidlesham. Matthew Butler gave Heath the lead on 16 minutes, and two second half efforts from Andrew Waddington after 62 and 89 minutes completed the scoring.

Bosham are second as they dropped their first points following an exciting 3-3 draw at Dorking Wanderers, with Bosham coming from behind three times to earn their point. Lee Smith gave Dorking a 22nd minute lead, but Matthew Collino equalised on 38. Chamal Fenelon put the home side 2-1 up just before the break, only for Bradley Miles to equalise for the second time four minutes into the second half. Shane Jones restored the home sides advantage after 57 minutes, but three minutes from time Toby Pointing gave Bosham a share of the points.

TD Shipley maintained their positive start to the season with another point following their 2-2 draw at home to Uckfield Town. Bradley Curtis gave TD the lead in the 21st minute from a free kick, but a Dane Smith header brought the sides level on 31. Steve Dixon restored the home sides lead 5 minutes into the second half, but four minutes later Gould scored his and Uckfield's second.

Haywards Heath Town are fifth as they began their season with a 5-0 win at Pease Pottage Village. Jerome Beckles got the first after 23 minutes and Robert Cooper made it 2-0 at half-time with a goal after 30 minutes. Thomas Howes scored two more, his first 4 minutes into the second half and again with three minutes to go. The final goal came in the last minute courtesy of Olly Day. Bexhill United are sixth after picking up their first win, 2-0 at Saltdean United, as first half goals from Jethro Warren on 21 minutes and William Dunstall secured the points.

In the day's other game Forest and Hurstpierpoint drew 1-1 at Roffey, a Kyle Mitchell-Harris header gave Forest a 70th minute lead, but five minutes later Trevor Wilson equalised for Hurst.
